PROJECT Trio – Composition Competition 2013

What the winner wins:

$500 Award + a premiere of the work + a recording of the work


The contest is open to composers of all ages.  There will only be one prizewinner, but we may select other pieces to be performed and recorded.


Instrumentation: The piece should be written for Flute, Cello, and Bass.

Length: 5-8 minutes

Score: Each composer must submit a hard copy legible score and parts. We also request pdf score and parts to be emailed to project@whatisproject.org by the postmark date. 


Please include your name, email address, phone number, and mailing address on a separate sheet of paper.

Returning your score: If you would like your score to be returned, enclose a self-addressed envelope with the correct US postage.

Application fee: $20 per composer per application. Make checks payable to PROJECT. Application fees are nonrefundable.  PayPal payments are accepted(project@whatisproject.org).  Please send or email a copy of your paypal receipt.

Number of entries: Composers may submit as many works as they like, each one accompanied by an entry fee.

Deadline for entries: Score, Parts, and personal information must be postmarked by September 15st, 2013

Winner will be announced by November 15st, 2013

*By accepting the award, the composer agrees to give PROJECT Trio exclusive performing rights for three years and exclusive recording rights for six years without further compensation from PROJECT Trio.  The composer agrees to acknowledge the “PROJECT Trio Compositition Competition 2013” in all scores and program notes pertaining to the winning work.
